Liane Buck

Liane Buck was born Liane Lacerda de Queiroz in Bahia, Brazil, the spiritual heart of Brazil. She was raised in a devout Catholic family and originally wanted to be a nun. An anthropologist with a degree in Economics, she did her post-graduate work in international commerce and worked for the Brazilian State Commerce Department as a statistics technician and bank auditor.

As a young adult, she worked as an economist and project manager for the Jesuit-run Center for Studies and Social Action (CEAS), a Brazilian nonprofit organization, where she developed humanitarian and social projects to raise the standard of living among the poor in Bahia, Brazil.

From an early age, she was guided by her uncle, a Rosicrucian master and Mason who mentored her in the arcane, and she studied extensively with various schools of ageless wisdom and in religious matters with the Jesuits. Among others, she is a member of the Order of Saint Michael. After starting out learning cartomancy, or divination using playing cards, Liane progressed to seriously studying the tarot at the age of 17.

Following a seven-year apprenticeship, she began reading tarot professionally, and her professional reputation grew until she became one of the best-known and most-sought-after tarot readers and astrologers in Salvador, capital of the state of Bahia.

Liane was writing a newspaper column, hosting a radio show, and filming a pilot for a television show when she received guidance that she should be prepared to give up everything and travel. The very next day, she received an invitation from the Navajo Nation in the western United States to come to Arizona to study shamanism with them. She was the first Brazilian woman to be invited to do so.

A year after arriving in the United States, Liane was struck by a drunk driver and lost the use of her legs. During the 18 months it took for her to recover, she made a promise to God that if she was allowed to walk again, she would perform the 14 Acts of Mercy from Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount. With this promise, Liane embarked on the next journey of her life. She became a Death Row minister at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, a men’s prison, and the Central California Women’s Facility and Valley State Prison in Chowchilla, both in California, and worked with various charities and religious organizations to fulfill her vow. Along the way, she met her husband, Christopher Buck.

Together, Liane and Christopher founded Humanity Healing International, an international humanitarian charity best known for the rescue of albino children from human traffickers in sub-Saharan Africa who sell them for sacrifice; OMTimes Media, whose magazine, radio station, and livestreaming TV promote spirituality and conscious living; and Cathedral of the Soul, an esoteric Christian church teaching Ageless Wisdom.

Liane Buck’s honors include the Knighthood in the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem in Malta in 2014 and the title of Chevalier (Knighthood) in the Royal Equestrian and Military Order of Saint Michael of the Wing of the Royal House of Braganza in Portugal in 2017.

Presidential awards include the President’s Call to Service Award by US President Barack Obama in 2012, and the award of Lifetime Achievement in Community Service from US President Joseph Biden and AmeriCorps in 2021.

Christopher Buck

CHRISTOPHER B. BUCK is the chairman and CEO of Humanity Healing International, chairman and CEO of Cathedral of the Soul, chairman of Saint Lazarus Relief Fund, and President Emeritus of the Royal Society of Saint George – California.

A former Eagle Scout, Christopher was raised with selfless service to others as a priority, and he continued this commitment as an adult, whether serving at a local soup kitchen for the homeless or as a Boy Scout leader for 11 years.

In 2007, Christopher co-founded Humanity Healing Network with his wife, Liane, which evolved into Humanity Healing International, a 501(c)3 public charity that is best known for the rescue of children with albinism from human traffickers in sub-Saharan Africa who sell them for human sacrifice. Other projects include the Pads for Schoolgirls project, which helps girls in Sub-Saharan Africa, mostly Uganda, stay in school after they become young women, teaches them a marketable vocational skill, and promotes community service through the sharing of the reusable sanitary pads they have made with other girls to help them stay in school; the Riverside Project in Nepal, which offered education to “second daughters” in a region that does not guarantee their right to an education; and home and vocational training for women in Pakistan who are victims of acid-throwing and other severe forms of extreme violence against women.

As ordained ministers, Christopher and Liane’s outreaches through the Cathedral of the Soul include prison ministry, with an emphasis on reconciliation and conflict resolution, the development of resource guides to foster the gifts of compassion in children in grades K-2, and a course in visionary leadership for youth.

Through the Saint Lazarus Relief Fund, a 501(c) (3) public charity initially established by Christopher and Liane, funds are raised through organizations like the Royal Society of Saint George to support and sponsor smaller charitable organizations and groups.

Christopher Buck’s honors include Knighthood in the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem in Malta in 2013, Omukungu (Knighthood) in the traditional Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom in Uganda in 2014, and Chevalier (Knighthood) in the Order of Saint Michael of the Wing of the Royal House of Braganza in Portugal.
